Initial pencil composition done to scale of the two figures, ready for spolvero (dusting)

The panel is lime plastered, then the design is transferred by the technique of spolvero (dusting).

Rachel’s husband Jacob is painted first with pigments only. The fresco is painted in two sections.

The second half of the fresco is applied and Rachel’s father Laban is painted.
